ಒಬ್ಬ ದಾರ್ಶನಿಕ ತುಂಬ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ - "ನಮಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳು ಬಂದಾಗ ದೇವರು ಆಗ ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.." ಸಂಕಟ ಬಂದಾಗ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ "ಎಂದು. ನಮಗೆ ರೋಗ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆಗ ವೈದ್ಯರು ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯುದ್ಧ ಬಂದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಮಗೆ ಸೈನಿಕರು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ" ಎಂದು! ಹೌದು;  ಭಾರತ ಮಾತೆಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಇಡೀ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಅವಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಈ ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ "Hero" ಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ಲೇಖನವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಿಜವಾದ "Hero" ಇವರೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?  ಭಾರತ ಎಂಬ ಸುಂದರ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಲವರ 'ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು' ಬಿದ್ದವು ಹಾಗೂ ಈಗಲೂ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿವೆ! ಅನೇಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರೂ ಅವೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿ ನಿಂತ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಏಕೈಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾರತ ಮಾತ್ರ! ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರು ಕೇವಲ ಆಳಲಿಲ್ಲ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 'ಲೂಟಿ' ಮಾಡಿದರು. ನಮಗೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಉಡುಗೊರೆ ಏನೆಂದರೆ 'ದೇಶವಿಭಜನೆ'! ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ ಎಂಬ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂತು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಅನ್ನೋದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈ ದೇಶದ "ಕಿರೀಟ" ವನ್ನೇ ಕಸಿಯಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಮುಂದೆ ಭಾರತವೇ ನಮ್ಮದು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ಅಚ್ಚರಿ ಪಡಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ!  ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ ಇಲ್ಲಿವರೆಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಬಾರಿ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ನಾಲ್ಕ...

‌ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋವನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವ ಏಕೈಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾರತ ಮಾತ್ರ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಹಿಂದೂಗಳು ಗೋವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಭಾವದಿಂದ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವತ್ತಿಗೂ ನಾವು ಹಸುವನ್ನು 'ಗೋಮಾತೆ' ಎಂದೇ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಪುರಾಣ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಕೂಡ ಗೋವಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸ್ಥಾನಮಾನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಹಿಂದೂ ಕೂಡ ಹಸುವನ್ನು 'ದೇವರು'  'ತಾಯಿ' ಎಂಬ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ರೂಪದಿಂದ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮೂವತ್ತು ಕೋಟಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಹಸುವಿನಲ್ಲೇ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ನಂಬಿದ್ದೇವೆ.  ಈ ದೇಶದ ಆದರ್ಶ ಪುರುಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗೋವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವಿಷಯ ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿದೇ ಇದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗೋವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗೋವುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹ  ಭಾವದಿಂದಿದ್ದ. ಇವತ್ತಿಗೂ ನಾವು ಕೃಷ್ಣನನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಿದರೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ 'ಗೋಮಾತೆ' ಯನ್ನೇ ಪೂಜಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ನಂಬಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಆದರೆ ದುರದೃಷ್ಟವಶಾತ್ ಇಂದು ಗೋವನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸೋದಿರಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೆಲಸವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೌದು ಯಾವ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಪೂಜೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತೋ ಅದೇ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಅವುಗಳ 'ಮಾರಣಹೋಮ' ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಗೋಶಾಲೆಗಳು ತೆರೆಯಲು ಬದಲು ಕಸಾಯಿಖಾನೆಗಳು ತೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿವೆ!   ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಗೋವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು 'ಗ...

ಯಾರು ಈ ದೇವರು ? ದೇವರು ಇದ್ದಾನ ? ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ ? ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಲೇಬೇಕು . ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆನೇ ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ . ಆದರೆ ಇದರ ಉತ್ತರ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸರಳ ! ದೇವರು ಅನ್ನೋದು ಒಂದು 'ಶಕ್ತಿ ' . ಹೇಗೆ ಒಂದು ಯಂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಚಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಾಲಿಕನ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದೆಯೋ ಹಾಗೇ ಈ ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ಎಂಬ 'ಮಾಯೆ' ಯ ಸೂತ್ರಧಾರನು ಇರಲೇಬೇಕು ಅಲ್ವಾ ? ನಾನು ಪ್ರಪಂಚವನ್ನು 'ಮಾಯೆ ' ಎಂದು ಕರೆದೆ ; ಯಾಕೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾ ? ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ ಈ 'ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ' ಅನ್ನೋದು ಇಲ್ವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ! ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಭ್ರಮೆ . ನಾವಿಲ್ಲಿ ಪದಪ್ರಯೋಗವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇ . ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನಾವು 'ದೇವರು' ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೂ ದೇವರೇ ಆವೃತನಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಜಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗಬೇಕು ? ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜಗತ್ತು ಅನ್ನೋದು ಒಂದು ಮಾಯೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇ . ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ನರೇಂದ್ರನಿಗೂ ಕೂಡ ಬಾಲ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು . "ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀರ ?" ಎಂದು ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿದನು . ಆದರೆ ಯಾರಿಂದಲೂ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಉತ್ತರ ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ . ಕೊನೆಗೆ ನರೇಂದ್ರನಿಗೆ ಅನಿಸಿತು "ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರದ್ದು ಕೇವಲ ಬುಟಾಟಿಕೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ! ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ದೇವರ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ಕೂಡ ದೇವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಲ್ಲ! ಏನಿದು ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ! ಸರಿ; ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಭಾರತದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಹೇಗಿತ್ತು ಅಂತ ಅರಿವಿಗೆ ಬಂತು. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಢನಂಬಿಕೆಗಳು ತಾಂಡವಾಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾ ಮೇಲು ನೀ ಕೀಳು ಎಂಬ  ಜಾತಿಯ ಪದ್ದತಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಇದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಿದ ನಿವೇದಿತಾಳೇ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ದಿಗ್ಬ್ರಾಂತಳಾದಳು! ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಗೆ ನಿವೇದಿತಾಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಪಾರ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು. ನನ್ನ ನಂತರ ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ನನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಂದುವರಿಸುವಳು ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತು. ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಯ ಆಸೆಯಂತೆ ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಆಗ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಯಾರು ಕಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು? ಕೊನೆಗೆ ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಮನೆ-ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ "ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಕಳಿಸಿಕೊಡಿ"  ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡಳು! ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಬಾಲ ವಿಧವೆಯರಿಗೂ ಪಾಠ ಹೇಳಿದಳು! ಅವರಿಗೆ ಗಣಿತ, ಕಲೆ, ಹೊಲಿಗೆಯ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡಿದಳು. ಒಂದು ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ "ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ ಭಾರತದ ರಾಣಿ ಯಾರು?" ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಳು. ಆಗ ಒಂದು ಮಗು "ಕ್ವೀನ್ ಎಲಿಜಬೆತ್" ಎಂದು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದಳು. ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೇ ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು "ಏನು? ಕ್ವೀನ್ ಎಲಿಜಬೆತ್ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡಿನ ರಾಣಿ! ಭಾರತದ ರಾಣಿ 'ಸೀತೆ'! ಭಾರತದ ರಾಣಿ  ' ಸಾವಿತ್ರಿ ' ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು!! ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಈಕೆಯ ಭಾರತ ಪ್ರೇಮವು ಅದ್ಭುತ! ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 25ರ...

'ನಿವೇದಿತಾ' ಈ ಹೆಸರು ಭಾರತೀಯರಿಗೆ ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು! ಯಾಕೆಂದ್ರೆ ಈ ದೇಶದ ಶೇಕಡ 85ರಷ್ಟು ಜನರಿಗೆ ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಎಂದಾಕ್ಷಣ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ತಬ್ಬಿಬ್ಬರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ! ಇದೇ ಈ ದೇಶದ ದುರ್ದೈವ.. ಆದರೆ 'ನನ್ನ ಭಾರತ' ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪದವನ್ನೂ ಬಳಸದ ಈ ಪುಣ್ಯಾತ್ಗಿತ್ತಿನ ನಾವು ಇಂದು ಮರೆತಿದ್ದೀವಲ್ಲ? ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೇ ಬಹುಶಃ ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಭಾರತವನ್ನ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಷ್ಟು ಇಂದು ನಮಗೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಭಾರತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನೂ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ! ಆಕೆ ಭಾರತೀಯಳಲ್ಲ; ಆಕೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆಕೆಯ ವೇಷಭೂಷಣ ನಮ್ಮಂತೆ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಕೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಷ್ಟಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವವನ್ನೇ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೇ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದಳು! ಹೌದು 'ಮಾರ್ಗರೇಟ್ ಎಲಿಜಬೆತ್ ನೋಬೆಲ್' ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಶಿಷ್ಯೆ. ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ದೂರದ ಐರ್ಲೆಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ. ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಚರ್ಚಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಧರ್ಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಇವಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡವು. ಆದರೆ ಇವಳ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಉತ್ತರ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಥವಾ ದ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಗುರುವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರು ಆಗ ತಾನೆ 'ವಿಶ್ವವಿಜೇತ'ರಾಗಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು  ನೀಡಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ...

Subash was born in Cuttack, Orissa on January 23, 1897 to Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati. His father was a famous lawyer. At the age of 5 he was admitted to the Protestant European School at Cuttack. Accordingly when a Small Pox Epidemic Hit A village, Subhas formed a volunteer corps with his friends to nurse the poor. At the age of 15 Subhas began Reading the works of Swami Vivekananda. He even practised Yoga. Same as "Narendra" Subhas went in search of a guru....
